TOPIC: SWEET SMELL

TEXT : PHILIPPIANS 4:18

"But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, well pleasing to God." Philippians 4:18

Apostle Paul described the state of giving of the Philippian Church as an odour of a sweet smell; acceptable sacrifice and well pleasing to God. Giving becomes sacrificial when offered out of inconvenience. If you want everything to be right before giving for the furtherance of God’s kingdom on earth, you may not be able to give because human want is Insatiable. There were many Churches but Paul projected and blessed the Philippians for their sacrificial giving. You can’t be stranded if you are a consistent giver. Let your giving start in the right order – from God to man to avoid frustration.
Genesis 8:22 is an indication that the law of seed time and harvest is applied to everybody – “as long as the earth remaineth, seed time and harvest shall never cease”. This simply means that until you sow, you can’t harvest; until you give, you can’t receive. Understand that giving involves character. Be careful of what you “give” to your parents and parents in law; spouse, children, siblings, in-laws, friends, colleagues and other people around you. Whatever goes around, comes around. Let your giving produce sweet smell.

DAILY PRAYER POINTS:
1.Father, give me the spirit of giving in the name of Jesus.
